Eclipse as a tool can be found (almost) everywhere - at least in development departments of large and medium-sized companies. It can often be found even where no one would ever suspect it. One example: a German car manufacturer found out that 67% of their developers were using Eclipse - even though a commercial development environment had been purchased and defined as standard, and even though Eclipse usage had not been approved at that time.
